6 Month Pictures

Just picked up Collin's 6 month pictures. As usual, the color doesn't come out great when I scan them, but they are very cute. Glad we had these taken before you started crawling and moving everywhere.

6 Months

Collin James you are 1/2 a year old. Wow! leaves me in complete shock. Your daddy still thinks you are a tiny baby, but for me you are growing way too fast. You are truly the sweetest little boy. You are so happy and give the best smiles and giggles. Your happy place is with mommy and I hope it always will be. You love milk babas, watching Hannah and Jack act silly, and being held. Your dislikes are being left alone or being hungry. You sleep through the night like a champ now. I am so proud of you. You sleep from about 7:30-6:30 every night. You sleep with paci, or should I say 4 pacis which all end up under your crib every night. You eat baby food for breakfast and dinner and like it all. You drink 6 oz. of milk every 4 hours. You take one consistent long nap at 9am. Your 2nd nap is hit or miss depending on the activities of the day/school pick up schedules, but I try to squeeze one in about 1-2pm. This past month you scoot, roll, or drag yourself anyway possible to get around the house. You love hearing yourself talk and make funny screeches. You still have the prettiest blue eyes and sweet smile. You like playing with toys and chewing on your hands. Your doctor's appointment was today. You weigh 16 lbs. (19%) and are 25 3/4 inches tall (12%). The doctor said you have really good eye hand coordination and look perfect. You had to get 2 shots, but didn't even cry. You took pictures at JC Pennys last weekend so I'll upload those once I get to pick them up. Love you Collie Jamesy

Back to School

Summer comes and goes faster each year. I absolutely love summer because it means no work, time with family, sleeping in, no schedules and fun! One thing however that I'm looking forward to with the start of the school year is special time just with Collin. Now that Jack is in preschool 3 days a week, I will get a few hours each week just to bond and be with Collin, without interruption. Jack's first day of preschool was today. He is attending Shepherd of the Hills and has Mrs. Langenfeld. He is in the red room and he's super excited to be a hedgehog. Mrs. Langenfeld is really into science which is right up Jack's alley so I know he's in a good spot. Despite being very nervous, Jack did amazing. When morning came he got his backpack, took lots of pictures, and eagerly walked me to his room. I was honestly so incredibly proud of him. He sat at a table and started playing playdoh so I said goodbye and started to leave. Right when I got to the door he shouted "Mom, I love you as big as a palm tree." I started sobbing. It was exactly what I needed. I knew he would be okay and I couldn't help but stare at the palm tree in our yard all morning while I waited for him. At pick up he had a big smile and said he really liked school. His favorite part was the books she read and snack. He was disappointed that he doesn't get homework in preschool. It really was one of the proudest days I've been of Jack and while I hate how fast he is growing, I am so happy to see what God has in store for his little life. Hannah started first grade last week. She is in Mrs. Montoya's room. She handles everything with grace and perfection. It is so weird to drop her off in the morning and see her walk across the street by herself. Such a big girl. Her favorite things are having her own desk and buying lunch. It feels like she is gone so long during the day. I truly miss her but I'm proud of all she does. She earned best listener award week one. No shock there. And my sweet Collin, I really am excited to have time with just you, time to play and talk and learn. I love you dearly and will always be proud to be your mommy.

"If I could keep you little, I'd hold your hand everywhere, but then I'd miss you knowing I can go and you stay there. If I could keep you little, I'd kiss your cuts and scraps, but then I'd miss you learning from your own mistakes. If I could keep you little I'd keep you close to me, but then I'd miss you growing into who you're supposed to be."

I love all three of you as big as a palm tree.
