4 Months

Today Hannah had her 4 month check up. She is now weighing in at 14 lbs., 25 inches. Her head is huge because she has such a big brain:) (80%.) So Nana, for Christmas this year, if you make Hannah a new set of winter hats (which we are hoping for because you are so talented), don't forget she's an XL. Hannah is as beautiful as ever, but these last two weeks have been really difficult. SHe has started refusing to eat and screams when you give her the bottle. Her schedule of eating and napping are out the window and she has been really fussy (probably because she is starving, but she won't eat.) We thought for sure it was an ear infection, but her ears are still clear. Then we thought she must be getting a tooth, but no sign of one yet, just a lot of drooling. I'm really not sure what is going on and neither is the Dr. For now we are on a wait and see plan of attack. Gramps is on deck for babysitting next week and I feel really bad that he doesn't know what he is walking in to. I know he is up for the challenge, but I fear he will return home and tell Nana to run for the hills when it's her week. Hopefully she will get better soon, I just wish I knew what was wrong. Also, they wouldn't give her the 4 month shots today because she has 101 fever so we are going back in two weeks for those. I was also disappointed because she was supposed to start rice cereal today, but again we got the red light because the dr. wants us to figure out the eating thing and get the bottle back on track before introducing solids. Hannah is so precious. I know something is bothering her because she is such a good happy baby. I think she misses her Mommy while I'm at work, but what do I know. I hope it works itself out soon.

Hannah has a Friend

Welcome to the world Luke David Thomas! Hannah is so excited that she has a little friend in the world. Congrats to one of my best friends Ashlee and Chris. Luke was born on 4-16-11 and weighed 7 lbs. 9 oz. He is so adorable. I tell Hannah it's her future husband:) Hannah had a busy weekend. Not only did her friend arrive, but we celebrated Pop's Birthday and Easter. Hannah got to meet her Great Ger Ger. She thought she was so funny and couldn't stop smiling at my grandma. We also did a second Easter with my mom and her cousins. Hannah got to meet so many new people and boy did she get spoiled. The Easter bunny brought so many gifts you would think it was Christmas. It was such a wonderful weekend. Both Tim and I love to spend time with family and friends. It makes us miss home even more and we are praying hard for the opportunity to move home. Last week Hannah stayed with her Daddy. She had fun going on walks with him to the donut shop and to the park to watch him play basketball. This week it's my turn again! I am so happy. I miss her terribly while at work and it feels good to be with her again.

Bye Bye Granny, Hello Daddy

Well I survived my first week back to work. It it so hard to leave her and I miss her so much, but I'm five days down and I'm happy to report Hannah had a wonderful week. Granny gave her straight As. Hannah is just such a sweet happy baby and loved to play with her Granny. She did good eating and sleeping too. Hannah called to say hi each day at noon which gave me something to look forward to and my office walls are now wallpapered in pictures of her. Even though I miss her terribly, I know it is a special time that family members can have bonding with her because you really learn her ins and outs when you watch her alone for a week. I am glad her and my mom had that time together. Dad is up next week. Also, heads up that now that I'm at work I will probably only be able to post once a week so you might want to check on the weekend if you are used to being a daily checker. Other updates to report... we think she might get a tooth soon because she is drooling a lot lately and she rolls to her side, but not all the way over yet. Also, she is eagerly awaiting the arrival of her first friend Luke Thomas who should say hello to the world any day now. On her 3 month birthday she took the following pics. Enjoy:)

Peek A Boo

Last night Hannah laughed for the first time while playing Peek A Boo and I was able to capture it on video. Make sure your volume is up and watch the whole thing because the last laugh is the best in my opinion.

Granny's Coming

In honor of my mom being here next week to watch Hannah while I go back to work, I thought I'd post a little blast from the past. This is a picture of me from my baptism day 26 years ago and Hannah on hers. Thanks mom, we can't wait until you are here.

Surgery Update

Today Hannah and I had another appointment with her surgeon and everything is looking good. We are still on track to get the cleft repaired in October. He said that she is gaining weight much better than most babies with cleft which is a great thing. It makes me feel good to know that Tim and I have mastered the art of feeding her. They won't operate unless the baby weighs 11 lbs. This is a struggle for a lot of babies because it is so hard for them to eat and they lose so much food through the nose. Hannah is 13 lbs. 2oz. and she still has 6 months to go. The last hurdle is that she has to have a blood test in a couple of months to ensure the cell counts are normal. The more we meet with the surgeon, the more I like him. He is very good to Hannah and has a heart for babies with cleft palate because his own son was born with it. He has 7 kids of his own so he loves children and can relate to how hard it is to be a parent of a baby that needs surgery. The office girls are really nice too and love when Hannah comes in. They all say how cute she is and are always confused why she is there. I think she is a refreshing change from their daily routine of rhinoplastys and augmentations. I'm sure people in the waiting room think I'm there to get a mommy makeover because that is more believable than a beautiful little baby needing plastic surgery.

Tomorrow Hannah will be 3 months old! She is just wonderful and doing everything on schedule just as she should be. Over the next month we are looking forward to her laughing and rolling over. Maybe even getting a tooth.
