Farewell Baby Bump

Today is the post for my final bump watch pic. Month 9, week 37! Hard to believe we are here. Time really goes so quickly. Today I had my weekly appointment with the doctor and wow there has been a lot of action in one week. I am 3 cm. dialated. Which is crazy. 3 cm was active labor with Hannah. Some woman aren't dialated at all at 40 weeks, so 3 is considered big time. I am 30% effaced so still have a ways to go in that department and she made a big point of telling me how super low Jack's head is. She even had a hard time reaching the cervix because the head is so low it was blocking the whole thing. She said it is so low that there is no chance of a c section unless some really wierd freak thing happened. So basically, long story short, she said Jack could come tomorrow or it could be another week. I love getting the updates, but it almost makes you more anxious sitting around because you really feel like it could be any minute. I know 37 weeks is still early for the majority of women, but my mom had early babies and so far that seems to be my bodies natural tendency too. So with that said, dare I say it. If I had to guess, I'm thinking that my next post will have a precious picture of my son. CRAZY! Any day...stay tuned.

People keep telling me how small I look, which is kind, but I think they are just being polite. I don't know judge for yourself, but I think I am bigger with Jack. Hannah just looks pointier. With Jack I have gained 30 lbs. With Hannah I gained 22 lbs. Which is ironic because I'm being told Jack will be a smaller baby then Hannah. We will know soon!

We made it!

I am so excited to say that we made it full term. Granted the march of dimes recently changed full term to be 39 weeks but 37 is traditionally known as full term where lungs are developed and baby is ready to go. Things are progressing very smoothly and I have a gut feeling jack will be here soon. Two weeks ago Tim found a 'worm' in the shower after I got out. Turns out doctor confirmed that it was the mucus plug. Since then contractions have picked up and as of last Thursday I was 1cm dialated. Ill get checked again on wednesday. The dr also commented that she thought jack would be smaller then Hannah. Can't wait to see. 21 days to go but could be any time now really.

Miracles

I believe I said this with Hannah, but it's a good point so I am saying it again. I honestly think having babies is the only time I have truly witnessed a miracle. Sure I have seen God work in many beautiful and amazing ways, but growing a human inside of you, now that is a miracle. There is nothing more powerful in my life that convinces me God exists then feeling kicks and punches from the sweet baby that has been created perfectly for you. I find comfort in knowing that God loves my children more than I do. I know they are exactly who they should be. He knows their birthdays, favorite color, future spouse, etc. all before we do. One of my greatest wishes for Jack is that he grows up to be a man of God. A man who walks humbly, yet holds his head high when expressing his faith. A man of good Christian character and a man who knows he is loved and has a purpose in this world. Anyway, I was thinking of this lately because I now wake up every two hours (almost on the dot) to use the bathroom in the middle of the night. Before I was getting up twice and now it's four times every night. Cray Cray much, yes! Not sure I ever get into a deep sleep. But last night as I was half asleep walking back to bed grumbling, it hit me. God isn't twisted who finds humor in making pregnant woman miserable secretly getting a kick out of every time we wake, but rather he is pure genius easing us into the road that lies shortly ahead. Basically the way I see it, is God will have me prepared for the every two hour feedings because my body is already getting into that rhythm. Seriously, He is truly amazing at master minding every detail. So for now I will try to praise him in ALL circumstances even going to the bathroom four times a night. Thanks God, good lookin out and thanks for creating my precious littles Jack and Hannah who mean more to me than life itself.

Maternity Photos

I remember back to when Hannah was in my tummy and I didn't even really know what maternity photos were. I had a false alarm about five days before she was born and then realized I should probably document what my stomach in it's full glory looked like. So I put the camera on self timer, set it on the bathroom counter and wallah...I had my maternity shoot! I have had friends take beautiful professional photos which inspired me to go somewhere in the middle with Jack. Hence, this morning I rallied the troops, had Grandma Ne meet us at the lake, and we had a photo shoot. With a little help from pinterest to get pose ideas I think they came out great. Hannah will pretty much do anything for a donut hole so getting her to participate was a breeze. All in all I am so happy with how they turned out and can't wait to scrap the pages! Sorry there are kinda a lot of photos today since that is the whole point of today's blog entry. Here are some of my favs. (32 DAYS TO GO)

Month 8 bump watch

47 days left. Count down is on. Honestly it has totally snuck up on me. With Hannah I feel like I was sitting around waiting. Granted our social calendar was pretty empty in nor cal. With jack I feel like we have been go go go and the calendar is still full. Crazy! Last Sunday I reached 33 weeks. At 33 weeks I am feeling terrible heartburn and slight back ache. Baby is the size of a pineapple. I feel him moving all the time.

Family Shower

This past weekend, Jack was spoiled with a beautiful family shower. The Tatum and Robbins women came together to celebrate Jack and we had a wonderful time. Granny and Auntie Mimi hosted the shower. There was great food made by grandpa, beautiful flowers, cute baby blue decor and great company. Jack is so blessed to have such a strong loving group of women in his corner. Jack was spoiled with lots of clothes, blankets, toys, etc. It is so fun bringing everything home for Hannah to see. Her favorites this time are dinosaur toys and truck books. I've been drilling in her head that she has to share with Jack so it only seems fair that he shares with her too. I draw the line at his new Little Giraffe blanket and stuffed animal. They are out of reach because she wants to sleep with them too. It is so fun to open the closet and see all the blue things. It feels really close and I am very excited to meet him. We are blessed!

Summer Fun

We have had such a fun start to our summer. Tim and I wanted to do all of our traveling and major summer activities early this year just in case baby boy decided to join the fam earlier than expected. So, for the last 2 weeks we have been having a blast. First, we spent 10 days in Bishop, visiting with family, swimming, hiking, picnicking, visiting many lakes, boat rides, feeding the ducks, feeding the farm animals, going to the beach, and Hannah's favorite meeting a litter of puppies. On the 4th, each family member created a carnival game and we transformed the backyard for the kids. There was water balloon toss, ring toss, knock the cans down, etc. Each kid won prizes. Hannah's favorite was Auntie Laura's fishing game. She could have played that all day (and she kinda did). We stayed up super late to watch fireworks. I wasn't sure if Hannah would like them. It was her first time seeing them and she LOVED the big ones in the sky. We walk down the street and sit in the back of Gramps' truck with popcorn and candy. Hannah said "Fioworks, puurrple, my favo-ite color, Look Weston, it's yellllow" like fifty times. It was so fun to see her enjoyment. We had a great time and I love seeing Hannah interact with all her cousins. After Bishop, we came home for one day then took off again up to Big Bear to see Pop (and baby deer). Again, it was so fun. I love that Hannah has opportunities and experiences to spend time in beautiful places and learn to appreciate nature. We rode the gondola to the top of the mountain. Hannah and I thought it was great. Hannah kept saying "the people can't reach me." Daddy was a little nervous of the height, but not Hannah, she said it was like Dumbo ride. We ate lunch at the top of the mountain taking in the view. We also skipped rocks at Big Bear lake, saw horses, collected pine cones, and ate a ton of great food. Hannah loves playing in pop's backyard and got pretty good at hitting a baseball (without a T)! Amazing! Did I also mention that Hannah sleeps in a big bed all by herself now. Wow! she is a super star.

While we were out having fun, Jack was chillin, growing bigger and stronger. We went to the doctor today for our last ultrasound. Jack looks perfect. Heart beat is 151, cervix, fluid, placenta, kidneys etc all exactly as they should be. Jack measures 4 lb. and 7 oz. currently. Doctor also casually said "Nice size head." Ya, I know what that means. Big sister Hannah's head was and always has been in the 90%. He was sleeping during the ultrasound with one foot up by his face. And yes, he is definitely still a 'he.' Head is completely down and ready to go which is wonderful news. All in all, smooth sailing. Tim got to meet Doctor Flora for the first time. She's been my doctor for 11 years and I love her. She is so sweet and was telling Tim how I am one of her longest patients (she is young) and how Hannah is her best behaved sibling that comes in the office. I feel lucky to be in such good hands with someone I trust. She has nothing but great things to say about my health and baby's health so we will check in again in 2 weeks.

Jack, your sister loves watching you on the big TV. She says you are so cute and even got to take her own photo of you home just for her to hold. She keeps kissing it. We all can't wait to meet you.
